'An extraordinary life': Fred Levin changed Pensacola and the legal world forever

"Fred Levin was renowned throughout the city, state, country and globe for his reputation as a legendary trial attorney and tireless philanthropist,” said Fred's son and Levin Papantonio Rafferty attorney Martin Levin. "It seemed only fitting that we celebrate the dedication of Fred Levin Way with a festival that encourages and facilitates helping people in need."

Levin became one of the nation's best-known trial attorneys through a $13 billion settlement against the tobacco industry in Florida, and he donated more than $35 million to universities, nonprofit organizations and hospitals in his philanthropic work. He died from COVID-19 in January.
